Although it contains high level of sugar, honey has many positive benefits for health. A recent study suggested the benefits of honey was to relieve toddlers' cough at night.

In addition to relieving cough and making sleep more restful, here are some wonderful benefits of honey.

1. Rub Antibiotic
Research shows that some skin diseases, such as burn, scratch, until surgery scar, give response to "honey therapy" applied on the wound. The natural ingredient of honey in the form of hydrogen peroxide produced from bee enzyme allegedly works as a natural antibiotic that has the power to heal.

2. Reducing itching
The anti-inflammatory in honey is proven to help reduce the itching and irritation caused by mosquito bite.

3. Boost immunity
Honey is rich in polyphenols, an antioxidant that helps protect cells from free radical damage, which can lead to cancer and heart disease.

4. Relieves digestive disorders
In a 2006 study published in BMC Complementary and Alternative Medicine, the researchers concluded that replacing sugar with honey in processed foods increased the microflora in the gut. But that study was only conducted on experimental mice.

5. Treating acne
According to preliminary research, Manuka and Kanuka types of honey effectively treat vulgaris acne, a skin disorder that is caused by inflammation and infection of the pilosebaceous follicles on the face, back, or chest.
